Why this work matters
Scientific progress does not erase the origin of knowledge.
Traditional knowledge can inform research. That does not make it an unrestricted resource. How knowledge was shared, who may authorize its use, and what terms apply remain part of the research question.
VeriTrad’s development explores documentation that can support those decisions without replacing knowledge holders, researchers, or qualified professional review.
Our emphasis is practical: preserve context, distinguish evidence from inference, and avoid turning a missing record into an unsupported assurance.
